Bush Hogging in Tampa, FL

If your field is waist-high in grass and weeds, bush hogging can bring it back under control. We cut open acreage, accessible paths and fence lines with a tractor-mounted rotary cutter.

A good fit for open ground that needs a heavy mow, rather than tree removal.

  • Cut tall grass, weeds and light brush up to about 1 inch.
  • Open accessible fields, paths and fence lines.
  • Leave a rough-cut finish, with roots and cuttings on-site.

How We Bush Hog a Property

We check for hidden wire, rocks, stumps, debris and soft ground before cutting. Then we use a tractor and rear-mounted rotary cutter in overlapping passes at an agreed height. The job leaves a manageable field finish, rather than a lawn-style cut.

Field Growth Around Tampa

Grass and weeds can quickly cover open lots around Brandon, Seffner and Thonotosassa. Thin regrowth may suit rotary cutting; dense palmetto and established woody thickets usually need another method. Suspected cogongrass needs a separate control plan. Mowing alone will not eradicate its underground growth.

Land Clearing Questions,
Clear Answers.

Can a bush hog cut palmetto and young trees?

It is for tall grass, weeds and light brush within the cutter rating, around 1 inch for the scope described here. Dense palmetto clumps, established saplings and thicker woody growth need assessment for mulching or clearing.

What happens to the brush and debris?

Bush-hogging cuttings and forestry mulch normally stay on the property. For clearing and tree removal, we agree on hauling, stump work and any material left on-site. Those details belong in your quote.

Will Brazilian pepper or cogongrass grow back?

They can. Cutting visible growth is different from killing the plant. Brazilian pepper can resprout, and cogongrass spreads through underground rhizomes as well as seed. We discuss follow-up needs; one clearing or mowing pass is not a promise of permanent control.
